The Bali Barat National Park reveals a high bio range in a relatively small area. In 1998, a hundred and ten species of coral belonging to 18 households were recorded, of which 22 species have been of the mushroom coral family (there are simply 29 species of mushroom coral recorded worldwide!), and there were a minimum of 27 species of Acropora coral found in an area as big as only 2 ha. ref: Bali Villas
The Marine reserve contains the cape shores and several sanctuary islands, a haunt for seabirds, in the bay of Gilimanuk, on the island of Menjangan and the wonderful coral reefs surrounding it. The great drop-offs on Menjangan’s south side are only surpassed by the particularly excellent reefs on its northern shores. The island is a well-liked spot for locals and vacationers wishing to dive for a wide range of fish and coral reef exploration.There are no dangerous currents to cope with on this area.
